New Zealand Cartographic Society
Building on the success of the 2010 and 2012 Workshops, the New Zealand Cartographic Society will present an exciting two-day Map Design with ArcGIS: Mapping the 3rd Dimension Workshop. It will be held at the School of Environment, The University of Auckland, 1-2 September 2014.
The workshop will focus on different techniques to map the 3rd dimension using the ArcGIS Platform. The course will explore a range approaches for manipulating elevation and terrain data to create a range of compelling maps. It will consider the data requirements, manipulation and cartographic design considerations for default, advanced and alternative ways of representing terrain.
Of course, terrain can mean many things from elevation to 3D statistical surfaces and detailed city modelling which will also be explored. You'll learn how to use ArcGIS tools for terrain representation and 3D modeling and how to publish the work to create innovative, interactive 3D web scenes.
The Workshop presenter is Dr Kenneth Field from Esri Inc.
The Workshop is organised by:
> Registration deadline extended to 22 August! (16.08.2014)
> NZCS Workshop website published (17.02.2014)
Immediately after the Workshop the NZ Cartographic Society is organising the seventh National Cartographic Conference GeoCart'2014 also at the University of Auckland, between 3-5 September 2014.
